Course Objective: Develop more responsible citizens and leaders to help you succeed.
Recurring Class expectations:
1. Be respectful of others and yourself
2. No chemicals/food in the classroom
3. Military decorum (Attention on Deck for senior officers)
4. Class Leader takes muster and reports class
5. Academic credit….it is a class. No lame excuses!!! If you are miss class, you are responsible for knowing information provided during a missed class.
6. Bring books (Text or Field Manual as specified), map supplement, pencil and notebook to class
7. You are expected to take notes.
8. Grade is 20% uniform and muster attendance. 80% based on class attendance, homework, notes, quiz, project and tests. Usual points are 10/homework or notes, 10/quiz, 10/attendance, 50 – 100 /test or project.
9. Homework and assignments will be posted on web. Link through www.njrotc.info. Homework should be typed and grammatically correct. (You do not need to repeat questions in your answer). Homework must be turned in on or before the due date. If you miss a class, you may send your homework via grey mail or email. Its actually best if you email your homework (Moodle will be used later in the year). Email is best. Attach a file with your homework (don’t just send a message with the homework in the mssg). The weeks homework is usually due on Friday.

4. Quiz/Test: Unit 1
31 Aug - 4 Sept:
1. Class objectives: Understanding of NJROTC and Personal Goals. Personal Vision and Smart Goals; Assign class leader; Inspections, Drill and Uniforms procedure; Intro to CPS classroom response pads.
2. Homework Due: Permission Forms DUE (partial credit if late).
3. Homework Assigned: Read Unit 1 Chapter 2 (Goals). Study guide questions page 38. Personal Vision and Smart goal.
4. Quiz: Cadet interest survey
8-11 Sept:
1. Class objectives: Understanding Personal Goals/Study Habits. Graded uniform inspection. Discuss followership/leadership.
2. Homework Due: Unit 1 Chapter 1 study guide questions. Topic paragraph on personal vision and Smart goal.
3. Homework Assigned: Read Unit 2 Chapter 2. Study guide questions 1 through 5 on page 63.
4. Quiz: Unit 1 and Current Events.
14 - 18 Sept:

3. Homework Assigned: Unit 2 Chapter 3. Answer review questions 1, 2 and 3 on page 74, but apply your answers to your own motivation...not just general examples.
